Spirituality and Money – Are they a good mix?

Have we lost the Art of Having fun?  Pssss – Don’t tell anyone…but life and making money has become a serious business. It IS okay to put the fun, magic and money BACK into our lives…we can be spiritual and have fun making money!

In 2007 I asked a very specific question of the Universe.  “Am I on-track when I believe it is about being In-Grace and non-attached to money”.  The answer I got was – “You are so far, far, far off track it is not funny!”  To say I was gobsmacked was an understatement.  I had spent 25 years of deep in-depth core work to pluck up the courage to even ask the question.  Let’s face it no one really wants to know that we are meant to live on a smell of an oily rag and be happy about it – yet my life experience, even after following the “LOA and Wealth Success Gurus”, meant I still had not achieved financial independence so this was my last shot at understanding the whole concept of why being spiritual usually meant we were the lowest paid on the planet. 

It took me a whole five minutes to pick my mouth up off the floor and begin to breathe again.  My whole life passed before me in those five minutes.  How could I have got it so wrong, did that mean every book I had written was wrong?  As the shock wore off I asked another question. “Well if I am so wrong, what is the right answer?”  Within an instant I began writing ‘Spirit UnPlugged’… Debunking the Myths of Prosperity and Abundance.  It was a journey of transformation – to understand the answers.  It involved developing fast-track process to identify our deepest core patterns around money and processes to heal them so we can move from a life of restriction and lack into Divine Abundance, Prosperity AND Fun. 

The multimillion dollar question – Is it possible for a spiritually heart-centred person to remain spiritually balanced and have lots of money as well?  Can money and spirituality merge effectively long-term?  What is the formula that makes this a reality?

Is it true that if we are to be truly spiritual, then we must be compassionate, caring and generous?  Well Dah Yes…but does this also mean that we give to others before we give to ourselves.  No!  You see the journey of the spiritual warrior is a dance of balance.  We are emerging into the ‘New Energy of Creation’ where corporate is being challenged to conduct business from the heart.  This is causing the current economic dilemma we now see unfolding before our very eyes.

What we see as our outside mirror is also within.  This means if our economy is tightening and dare I say it, becoming desperate and greedy – then those same characteristics are within those who see this reflected in their world.

If we lack money, yet work hard to create it – what is that saying?  There is imbalance within.

Imagine this:  You greet a new client at the door and you naturally open your heart in a caring and compassionate way.  You spend time before the consult centring yourself, breathing and grounding your energy so you are the most effective Healer Practioner/coach whatever.  You have switched off the phones and you give undivided attention to your client.  Why do you do that?  Because you are a kind, generous person who wants to give this client the best possible experience and get results.

Now imagine this:  You greet the client and you are off-hand, somewhat defensive and even a bit intimidated by them.  You have not taken time out to centre and ground your energies because there is so much on your plate that you are in a constant rush.  The phones are ringing in the background distracting you.  The session finishes and you give a sigh of relief that it is over and you can pocket some much needed money and get onto more stuff.  How do you think the client feels?  Will that client come back again and again?  No I think not.

Yet this is what we do with our money.  Why do you think money doesn’t want to hang around? Are you a fun person who loves money – not for what money can do for you but what YOU can do for it!  Does money think you are a cool fun person to be with?  Do you go on lots of exciting ventures doing fun stuff – or has it all become so terribly serious and stressful.  Money is energy and if your relationship to money is stressed, fearful and resentful well of course money will head for the hills as fast as it can. Let’s face it do you want to spend time with a friend who is all stressed out, no time for fun, has forgotten to laugh in a very long time. Maybe, but not likely!  Well whether you realise it or not – money wants to be your very best friend.

How can you change your attitude to money and develop a close connection with it.  Think of money as a client.  How you treat your clients is the way money wants to be treated – with respect, and compassion for how it feels (and yes I believe money has feelings J)  When money is not flowing generously it is so easy to slip into fear, apprehension and tension.  Yet that is the very moment you need to stop and ask yourself why you are feeling what you do and transform that feeling immediately. Then put in place new strategies to have fun with money.  No one likes someone who is always so serious that they can’t laugh.  Go get your money and go have a cup of coffee, go to the movies, spend some time with it and give it a huge hug, love it, embrace it and reassure it that you love it and want to have fun and play with it.  Treat it with disregard, anger and resentment and it will hide behind the fence avoiding you and probably poking its tongue out at you.

However there is a catch – the quickest way to develop a simple, easy, fun relationship with money is to transform the core wounds that have created your experience around money.  The good news is I have created some super fast-track processes that do just that J.

Energy is everything.  Emotion is energy-in-motion.  Money is energy.  Transform the emotions and feelings AND the core patterns that create them and you WILL see fast results.  It is within the Divine Plan that spiritual people are abundant and prosperous – however our outside world is telling us some home truths that we need to transform the beliefs that tell us we do not deserve to have money flowing into our bank accounts with ease. 

The DVD ‘The Secret’ was an overnight sensation because spiritual people all over the world are fed up with the constant lack and wanted an easy answer – what they forgot to explain was that it is paramount to clear the core money patterns for this to happen in a sustainable way.  Sure it is relatively easy to create money; the only thing is, whilst we live in a world of duality it often moves away just as fast.  The key is to move from a state of duality into oneness where everything flows with ease.  This is not an overnight experience unless you are the Dali Lama or some off the chart amazing dood who has spent lifetimes upon lifetimes being that centred and spirituality aligned that they can turn mental into gold.  That is not how it is for most of us.  It requires some thought, some planning and a bit of transformation of these deep, often karmic and genetic patterns to create an ever abundant stream of money into our bank accounts.  The good news is that it can and does happen if you are willing to accept and transform that which is holding you back.  The very first step is to feel comfortable about the word Prosperity.  If the very word freaks you out then you need to dig a bit deeper and transform the why?  Obviously you spent lifetimes upon lifetimes where money was considered evil – it isn’t – it just wants you to validate its right to exist and to love it.  It is not money that is crappy – it is what people do to get it and to keep it – that is. 

Light Workers all over the world are being called to change the frequency vibration and tone of money – and that requires changing the consciousness of money at the deepest levels.  Imagine if we embraced this aspect of our spiritual journey with joy, excitement and a commitment to unlock the mystery as to why spiritual people have lived lifetimes in poverty.  No more – it is time to step up and change this reality.  Are you ready?

It is no secret that economies around the world are undergoing huge changes. When crisis after crisis hits it is a wake up call.

What do you do when you know you are being manoeuvred by someone’s hidden agenda?  It is amazing the level some people will go to – to get what they want, especially when it comes to money.

Let me tell you a little story. (A true story)

Several months ago I was at a meeting where I met someone who appeared very interested in my work.  We arranged to meet to discuss this. During our discussion she mentioned she belonged to a MLM that I had previously belonged to.  I made it quite clear IF I was to re-join I would do so under my previous up line.

Oh Yes! Of course – I understand, she replied.

I then began to receive (no obligation invitations to a Network meeting) finally I decided I would go – it was great to catch up with old friends.  However it the car it was clear that all previous understanding about if and when I re-joined it would be under my old up-line were forgotten.

Her body language spoke volumes about her expectation that I would join under her. So what did I do…I gave it some thought and considered the pro’s and cons.  I gave in and agreed to join under not my previous up-line.  The only thing was I really did not want to.  I was compromising my values – and why was I doing that?

This MLM group are a great bunch of people.  Conscious, caring and very supportive and that is very seductive to me.  This is the type of group that adds more to my life and I naturally would like to be a part of that.  However at what cost?

Was I willing to compromise my values and give in to this manoeuvring by this person?  I felt angry that although I had been very clear and upfront – and she told me she understood  - it was the last thing she was doing.  She had one intent and that was to get me to join up under her.  Okay – so was this someone I had respect for – no not really.

I at least held my ground and asked to take the joining papers home to read through. It included the order form for products I did not want or need.  You know what, this was crazy – one part of me was rebelling and the other part of me was trying to keep the peace and not rock the boat.

A business colleague said – why do you need her.  I looked at the reasons and made some excuses and came up with a few reasons, but the bottom line was – to go down this path was out of integrity to me. 

Therefore what was MY hidden agenda?  It was acceptance and to be a part of the tribe.  I wanted to belong to a group of people who, were on the same page as me.  However, to get in the door I had to join.  It was not the joining that was the issue – it was joining under someone who had not listened to me, had ignored my desire to be integrity and join under my old up-line.  This was a person who would do whatever she needed to do to get what she wanted and that was the money generated from my orders.  Hidden agenda’s around money.

You know what it repelled me, it stressed me.  I felt sick in the tummy and disgusted with myself for allowing this to get out of hand.  How could I be a teacher and get caught out like this.  Well I am human and the main thing is I am looking at it – I am taking personal responsibility for my own hidden agendas, my part in the co-creation of this experience.

I went for a walk, made a decision and sent an email declining the offer to join at this time.  However is that enough to prevent this type of thing happening again? No.

You see I was willing to allow this woman to manoeuvre me when I really did not want to do what she wanted, because I had a hidden agenda – there was a small thought that somehow she could be of use to me in my business.  That if I kept the door open, there may be contacts, opportunities to sell my own work and make money.  Oh yeah it is all about the money.  However, I was not willing to sell my soul for the stuff.

In transformation healing identifying the pattern is half of the equation.  It is very helpful and goes a long way to moving forward.  The next step is to identify the Root Cause that created this thinking and energy vibration.  It is the energy frequency (vibration) that I was sending out to bring this experience toward me, to see if I could grab it and stop it in its tracks and not be drawn into the swirling mess that it would create.

Using the ‘Freedom to Be’ program it came up ‘Control’.  This was me trying to control outcomes, this was me trying to make something happen in a way that I would feel safe because for me to feel safe I need to have money…and to be a part of the tribe that I felt safe around.

I was trying to shore up…to keep the boat from rocking with this person even at the expense of my own values.  Not good and was never going to work in my favour.  I know I need to allow, to step back and let money be attracted TO ME – not put in place people who I think might buy my products.  If I absolutely believe in what I teach then they will come.  I do not need to do a merry little dance of compromise to make it happen.

This person was my mirror. Her behaviour and manipulation to get what she wanted was within me.  This was my opportunity to grow from this experience.  Well I am off to do a painting for it is when we are at our most creative that we are vibrationally very attractive to money.  Money loves to hang around us when we are truly in our centre, our heart and in the essence of all that is creative.  We do not need to have hidden agendas to get money – money will be attracted to us if we allow it J

In personal growth circles it is often said we can create our own reality – however how easy is it to create a reality that you WANT?  Is it easy, or is it pie in the sky stuff.

I certainly believed it was possible.  After all I wanted it to be so – if I could change my life and become wealthy, healthy and have the love of my life then why the heck would I not subscribe to this principal.  I hooked into the concept with delighted abandon.  I read everything I could find on the subject I gleefully repeated positive affirmations 100 times a day.  I did it whilst driving – I did it whilst watching TV in between commercials. 

And you know what apart from some small successes the major stuff that I wanted seemed to run a mile in the other direction.  I wondered if it was just me, that somehow I was responsible (after all the concept is that I create everything in my life) so I had to be the one responsible didn’t I.  I spent some time beating up on myself.  I hid away from people because I was so sure that there blazoned on my forehead was looser….look she can’t create the life she wants so she is a looser….and guess what…in that state I had moved from thinking, believing and actioning positive actions to make the things I wanted out of life a reality.

I had begun to focus on what I did not want.  Oh my how easy it was to fall into that trap.  Okay so now I get it – I was spending more time focusing on what I did not want….the big questions was….just how could I get my mind to stop re-hashing over old stuff that didn’t work?

We have over 60,000 thought forms a day and most are not of the positive nature – this was a nightmare of huge proportions.  Did this mean that no matter how many positive affirmations, actions etc I took that I was doomed from the start – simply because of the dark stuff that happened in my life kept my thoughts focused on the negatives?

I realised that what I needed was something that would BREAK the cycle of my thinking, but how?  Have you ever tried to stop thinking about something that has got under you skin.  Especially if someone has done something to you that hurt?  This was a major clue.

If something that hurt you was keeping your thoughts on the negatives instead of the fun stuff – then this is where you start.

You clear the wound!  You heal whatever it was that hurt you.  If you no longer feel hurt or haunted by something that happened in your past then you have thought space to think about something good right?

Now consider that a hurt is an emotion and emotion is energy…therefore if you work with the energy of the issue then you are transforming it.  Simple!

This is where I started when I created the FREEDOM to BE program which releases emotional stress in minutes, by transforming the energy behind the pain/wound/belief pattern.

When you work with this program on a regular basis it begins to clear out the storehouse of these unresolved issues that have kept your thoughts in lack.  Is this good news or what.  It is!

A simple fast process that takes 4 minutes a day can change your life in so many positive ways. 

And it did for me.  I was able to change my life so it was fun again and more importantly be in the right place at the right time for my work to be noticed.  Writing Spirit UnPlugged was the  key that turned for me.  Each person will have their own trigger, the moment they BREAK OUT of their old ways and open the doors to a new and more positive life.
